Artist & Place
Artist & Place is a bi-weekly podcast with artist, Kim Carlino, interviewing artists to uncover the connection between place, landscape and the creative process. This is a podcast that goes beyond the work we make to get to the why behind it and what has brought us to that why, and how can a deeper look at our places of origin and memories of place affect our work. These conversations meander and explore many territories that will illuminate and inspire.

Michelle Dickson - Process, Uncertainty & Experimentation in the Studio
Episode 9 with Michelle Dickson! Michelle is a Baltimore-based mixed media artist working in sculpture, printmaking, drawing and painting. She has exhibited across the US including in Baltimore, Chicago, Boston, Detroit, Providence, and New York City. She was selected in 2014 by Mere Rubell for inclusion in the Baltimore Artists and WPA exhibition at Marianne Bosky Gallery in NYC. She has done several residences including at the Teton Art Lab in Jackson, WY, Pyramid Atlantic Art Center in Silver Spring MD and a 5 year term as a resident artist at School 33 Art Center in Baltimore, Maryland. This conversation is filled with so many nuggets of wisdom about experimentation, uncertainty in the studio, and a practice based on process and inquiry. It's a conversation about humans as nature and not separate from it, and whether nature will ultimately win out among so much more. Pleas check out Michelle's work and stay tuned for the release of a photo book she'll be putting out this fall about the Neither Mine Nor Yours series. Give her a follow and stay up to date!
